Six Jazz songs to welcome the fall

As summer says goodbye and fall approaches, it not only calls for a bit of a lifestyle change but also a switch in the music taste. With Halloween and pumpkin-spiced food around the corner, you might as well just want to add a bit of jazz.

To make it easier, I compiled a perfect list of songs as we perfectly understand how tedious it can be to find songs exclusive to the season. These are some of my favorite jazz songs to get you in the mood to welcome fall.

1) Autumn leaves

No list of fall-themed songs is complete without Autumn Leaves, composed by Joseph Kosma. The original lyricist was Jacques Prevert in French. Later, Johnny Mercer penned the English lyrics.

If you are looking for an instrumental version, you’ll want to listen to the rendition by Roger Williams. In 1955, his version was ranked as a number 1 best-seller of all times in US Billboard charts.

I am sure you will want to listen to this track on repeat!

2) Autumn in New York

This duet by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong will surely put you in a trance. This song makes you feel like you’re taking a walk in the park on a lovely, romantic fall afternoon – a great thing if you’ve spent the last few months at home. The song will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions!

You will feel compelled to go back and listen to this song again and again!

3) Autumn Sweater

Autumn Sweater! A bittersweet song by Yo La Tengo will make you want to turn into a furball in your coziest sweater. It perfectly captures the fall mood and keeps the flow seamlessly going.

If you ask me, this song makes for a great tranquil release!

You can add life to your morning commute by playing out this song LOUD. Total mood booster!

4) Autumn almanac

Written by Ray Davies and recorded by the Kinks, Autumn almanac is another perfect fall track that if you don't listen, you are missing out on some really good music!

If you have similar taste to that of the Kinks, such as good food, friends, and a bit of football, you will definitely want to give this track a try. I bet it will be one of your top favorites!

5) Harvest moon

Harvest Moon by Neil Young is probably the only song that best depicts the autumnal full moon. To our dismay, there are not many songs about the autumnal full moon. But, even if there had been, we can vouch that none of them would have been able to beat Harvest Moon.

This is a classic and just so perfect!

6) You would be so nice to come home to

Calling all trumpet enthusiasts! The trumpet in this song is a massive treat to the ears.

This song has a great romantic feel and swing that will surely calm your spirits.

So, are you ready to welcome the fall? Let us know which one is your favorite!
