Jersey Boys: A History

If you aren’t already familiar, The Four Seasons, an American band, rose to fame in the 1960s-70s. They are also known as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, with Frankie Valli as the lead singer.

Their popularity is so immense that they are widely regarded as the best-selling music makers of all time!

Jersey Boys is a musical play to commemorate the lives of all the band members that made up Four Seasons. I absolutely love this musical, it’s been a longtime favorite of mine.

The show first premiered at La Jolla Playhouse with a wonderful reception in 2005. As soon as it made its way to Broadway, it scored multiple accolades and awards. Previously, John Lloyd Young played Frankie Valli; Daniel Reichard starred as Bob Gaudio, Robert Spencer as Nick, and Christian Hoff as Tommy. Segmented into four parts, the musical depicts the different stages of Four Seasons. Each cast member had to lead one part of the musical and, in a way, present their take on the band's history.

Starting as just ''the guys'' from New Jersey, the members soon turned out to be a huge sensation after they sang their first note. The radio just could not stop playing them! Since then, the Jersey Boys have definitely come a long way.

While the cast of the musical has changed over the years, the charm and essence of Jersey Boys still remain the same. I had the honor to witness the musical cast of Jersey Boys in all their glory in 2017 when they came to perform a show in Downtown Los Angeles. I will never forget that Saturday night! So beautiful and just so perfect. The evening was a huge success, and I was absolutely thrilled to be part of the production. Yet again, Frank Valli and the Four Season's stories were well portrayed with great eloquence by the cast members. Aaron De Jesus played Frankie Valli, Matthew Dailey appeared as Tommy, with Keith Hines as Nick Massi and Cory Jeacoma as Bob Gaudio.

It was an absolute honor and privilege to stand beside this multitalented group. The whole experience was just magical and unforgettable!

My walk-on part for the Jersey Boys in itself turned out to be a huge success. The music, the audience, and everything just synced so well that the entire experience to date stays close to my heart and remains etched in my memory.

It was truly great and fulfilling to see how the Jersey Boys musical supports independent artists and gave me a chance to become a part of their event. I ask you the same!  Please support independent artists by listening and sharing my music here: www.maggysimonsings.com/music

All in all, Jersey Boys has managed to retain the same texture and feel of the real-life story. If you ask me, it’s almost impossible not to fall in love with this fantastic show. The story is flawless, and the actors are just too good at what they do. They are vivid, original, and just so talented! Have you seen the musical? What did you think?

With Love, Maggy
