Day In, Day Out

DAY IN, DAY OUT has been recorded by countless artists for over six decades. Originally written by Rube Bloom with lyrics by Johnny Mercer in 1939, the song has a catchy, fun, whimsical tune that is universally irresistible!

I included my rendition of this popular tune on my album, YESTERDAY ONCE MORE, to commemorate music legends like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Judy Garland who sang this tune once upon a time. One of my great callings in life is to keep their beautiful music alive and well!

In the song, the catch phrase, “day in – day out” might sound dull, but the music is arranged so that the words flow easily and sound hopeful. And isn’t it all too true – when you’re first falling in love, the days seem so long and dreary until – finally – you can see your sweetheart once again! The excitement of first love is captured in this playful tune, and that’s why I love singing it again and again, especially for my Valentine’s Day shows.

Haven’t been able to attend one of my shows? Don’t worry, you can preview my rendition of “Day In, Day Out” at the links below.
